This morning I got up at 2am to take my parents to the airport. Both going and coming back we went over the high pass between Karachaevsk and Kislovodsk. On both trips the sky was absolutely clear, so in the dark we were treated to the Milky Way with a multitude of stars, and on the way back I was treated to Elbrus and the North Caucasus standing clear and pink in the early morning sunshine. I couldn’t take a photo of the stars (although I tried) but I did take one of Elbrus….
